TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4

Memory verse: 2 Tim. 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Bible Reading: 2 kings 4:1
“1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves”.
LESSON 4
CREDITORS, BE MERCIFUL
“And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
No position is permanent in life. No stages are constant. It’s just a matter of time for God to turn things around. Being a debtor today can’t stop one from being a creditor tomorrow, time and chances happens to them all. Before you became wealthy as you are, you were once depending on others somehow. That you have enough and lend to someone doesn’t mean you may not need help from that debtor some other time. Be merciful while dealing with your debtors. Even if the children were used as a collateral, you still need to be patience.
The creditor came to carry the widow’s two sons as slave for the repayment of their father’s debt. How wicked can he be? Learn to be merciful to your debtors no matter what, no body desire to be in debt.
I wondered how the creditor felt when the woman paid off all her debt after the man of God’s instruction. May we not offend God while lending out our resources to help others in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Do have a wonderful week in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

“1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves”.
LESSON 3
AVOID DEBT BY ALL MEANS
Nothing makes one a slave like being in debt. Debt knows no boundary, the repercussion goes beyond one’s expectation at the end. To be in debt is to be under the control of someone else. Debts disgrace, embarrass, reproach and sideline one in life.
Prov. 22:7, says,
“The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.”
Borrowing makes you a servant to the lender.
Now, borrowing may be wise when you are investing in an existing business but not wise when starting a new business. Some borrow to show off. Some borrow to compete with friends, it’s unwise to borrow for pleasure.
The widow’s late husband was indebted with a large sum of money  to the extent of quantifying his two sons with the debt, too outrageous. He died without paying the debt which put the woman in a slavery position.
Avoid debt, it’s enslaves and ridicules one. It puts a question mark on your character. I pray we enjoy the wisdom to be delivered from every forms of debt In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

WHOSE SERVANT ARE YOU?
“Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD.”
This widow went to whom her husband served before his death. Though the man was dead, he served under someone. He was committed during his life time and his family knew he served a man of God. He lived his life to please God through Prophet Elisha and his service, after death, speaks for him.
Who are you serving? Do you have that humility to serve? Are you not all in all? If you need help who can you turn to as your master? Who can stand for you as a master? What will speak for you later in life? Jonathan’s service to David raised Mephibosheth out of hiding to the kings table, 2 Sam. 9. Can your service speak for your children after you? Whose servant are you?

TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4.

Memory verse: 2 Tim. 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Bible Reading: 2 kings 4:1.
“1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves”.
DEATH IS INEVITABLE
Beloved, I welcome you to a new week of studying God’s word. This week, we will be digging out some lessons from the book of 2nd Kings chapter 4, and I pray that God will open our eyes and hearts to receive and even see beyond the letters in the chapter in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Our first lesson today is seen from verse one. I want us to always know that, no matter the security, wealth, position, power, title and anointing, we will all die some day. It doesn’t matter how strong you may be, how high or how connected you may be, you can’t escape death. No charm, anointing or secret cults can stop you from dyeing, death will surely come.
One of the late prophet’s wife came to Prophet Elisha, the servant of God, and explain to him that, her husband, who served diligently under Him, died and left her with debts she can’t afford to pay. She explain to the man of God how faithful and committed the man was. But with all this services, he died. This is a man that served God wholeheartedly, yet still died, how much more those who have no time for God and His services? Are you thinking of the day that death will come knocking? What will you be remembered for when the time come? Will life after death speak for your family or speak against your family? No body want to hear about death but it’s a debt we all need to pay.
Take a deep breath; think on the way you are living and the result there after. I pray with you today, when the time come knocking, we will be happy to leave this world with Joy in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Do have a wonderful week in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: BE AVAILABLE FOR GOD

Memory verse: 2 Tim. 2:20-21
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

Bible Reading: 2 Tim. 2:21
21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”
AVAILABILITY WITH CLEANLINESS
You might be available for the master’s use and not fit for use. Being in the house of God for ages without holiness, righteousness and cleanliness will still make you unready to God. That’s why we have multitude in the house of God today but can’t be used by God. Deceivers, robbers, haters of the brethren, fornicators, adulterer and many more uncleanliness in the house of God.
In this end time, God need you, He needs me, He needs us to be available for the works He want to do through us. Our uncleanliness has restricted Him from calling on us. We might say “Lord, am available” but our heart is saying otherwise. An available vessel need to be sanctified and live righteously. How available are you? How available am I? Be available for God’s use. Be ready for He is still searching for the available vessels.
A blessed day ahead in Jesus Mighty Name.

Bible Reading: Math 21:7-9
7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very great multitude  spread their clothes on the road; others cut  down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:  “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!”
AVAILABILITY DETERMINE USEFULNESS
Until you are available you can’t be useful for God. No one understands your usage as God did. People may think they know you well; your strengths and your weaknesses, but this is the truth, nobody know your usage like God. There is where you are meant to function and what you were created to do, only God can use you in that area. When you are in God’s hand, He utilize you to profit not to sweat and live in abject poverty.
The Donkey and the Colt were tied down by their owner. They were useless in his hand until the Lord sent for them. When they became available for the Lord, they were wisely used and God was glorified through them. People honoured them as they were honouring Jesus as we discussed yesterday. Jesus used them rightly because of their availability at that time.
You may think you are useful where you are without being In the hand of God. You may think you don’t need God because you are prospering in all your doings but I’ll like you to know that, without God you are nothing. Being successful is not measure by wealth, prosperity and fame but being useful for God to change lives and draw men to Him. To show the light of God to others. Do you want to be used wisely? Be available for God and your life won’t be the same anymore.
A blessed day ahead in Jesus Mighty Name.

Bible Reading: Math. 21:6-8.
6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus  commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very great multitude  spread their clothes on the road; others cut  down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.”
AVAILABILITY BRINGS HONOUR
The disciples did as the Lord has sent them. They found the donkey and the colt, Gave the response Jesus told them and brought them to the Lord. When you make yourself available for the Lord, He honours you. God didn’t call anyone to put him/her to shame. God’s calling is always to honour. When he calls and you answer, he place a higher honour on you.
Romans 8:30, says, “Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
When the glory of God rest on you, you are honoured world wide. The donkey and the colt were honoured. Just as Jesus was being welcomed Into Jerusalem, they were honoured also. Honour has principle. You can’t be honoured until you answer and honour the call. You can’t be honoured until you honour others.
Do you want to be honoured? Be available for God’s works. Honour the call of God upon your life. Be a vessel He can use at will and you will be honoured.
Have a pleasant day ahead in Jesus Mighty Name.

Bible Reading: Galatian 5:19-23
*19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness,  lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred,  contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
CAN YOU RELEASE IT? Part 2
Our generation has modernized sin, we’ve repainted it with different names all because of God’s grace. We have indulge in every forms of unrighteousness and still prove it as righteousness. Our hands are filled with iniquities, shedding of blood, but we keep hiding under the mercy of God. May I ask you today, can you release those sins? Can you run away from them?
Our generation is more corrupt than the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Killing has become the order of the day when Lord says, “Vengeance is mine”. Fornication even in the church. Betrayal in the family. Competition between Men of God. When God called us, He called us with our sins, iniquities, unrighteousness and weaknesses, He didn’t expect us to remain in them as we walk with Him. He expected us to release them in order to walk perfectly with Him, but we thought it’s not bad since He called us with our sin. No, brethren, we need to drop those attitudes that tarnishes the image of God, those sins that affect our walk with God. We are God’s vessel, not just vessel any more. Can you release those things and follow God fully? Without releasing those attitude and behaviours we can’t be available fully for God. What do you need to release? Search them out and do away with them. God is still searching for the available vessel.
Have a pleasant day ahead in Jesus Mighty Name.

Bible Reading: Luke 19:31-34
31 And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ 32 So those who were sent went their way and  found it just as He had said to them. 33 But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of him.”
CAN YOU RELEASE IT? Part 1
We all have something special to us. We have that thing which we can’t joke with in our lives. Those things we so much cherish and take care of, even treat with respect. When God is asking for it, can you release it? What is that thing?
The owner of the Donkey and the Colt will also have plans for those treasures. He kept them for a purpose known to him alone. But a time came when Jesus came calling for them. If you were to be the owner, what would have been your response?
“Which master?”,
“He bought it for me?”,
“Have I been foolish for keeping it all these while?”,
“please, tell him to come himself”
What would have been your responses? How will you have handled the situation?
We were made to know that, the owner released the Donkey and the Colt to the disciples. Are you ready to release to God from what He gave you? Your money, time, resources, job and whatever God might be asking from you? Be a vessel In God’s hand by releasing what He is asking from you. Always remember John 3:27, which says, “John answered and said, “A man can receive  nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.”
God is not asking for what you don’t have, just little from what He gave you, can you release it?
Have a pleasant day ahead in Jesus Mighty Name.

Bible Reading: Math. 21:1-3
“1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. 3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”
WHERE ARE YOU?
From our Bible reading, the donkey and colt were being cared for on a daily bases. The owner didn’t have an idea of their used day but he kept taking care of it. When the day came, the donkey and colt were at their right location and Jesus had access to them.
How available are you for God? How ready are you with the talent He gave to you? Hope when God comes calling, you will be available? Many have been distracted with worldly things, they’ve been carried away from their rightful place. When the needed time came the donkey and colt were at their rightful place and was made available to Jesus. You are jumping from one church to another looking for miracle, do you know you might have left your right location? Rejecting offers of job because of the low salary, are you sure you’ve not lost your position? You are busy moving from one place to another in search of a partner, stay where God has place you, that’s where your spouse will see you. Remain where God has positioned you. If you will change location let it be God’s leading. Be commited with what He sent you to do and make yourself available for His use.
Be a vessel of honour at your rightful place.
Do have a wonderful week ahead in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
